Projected EIT collection field

The forward capture concept proposes a field thousands of kilometers across that guides extremely dilute, hypothetical dark-substrate excitations toward a smaller throat.

01 / THE PRINCIPLE

What this assembly is supposed to do

EIT is a measured change in optical absorption and dispersion in suitable prepared media. The proposed ramscoop extrapolates this effect to a macroscopic vacuum environment and speculates that phase gradients and orbital-angular-momentum-like modes could provide a collecting force.

02 / CONNECTIONS AND BOUNDARIES

How it fits the engine

Interfaces to the intake throat, field emitter power, real-time density estimation and attitude pointing. A vacuum-scale EIT collecting force has not been demonstrated.
